  Our First Halloween

  (i grew up in the "truth".

  ) very risky, considering we are still active in the cong..... so we started at the first house and methodically walked up and down each driveway as worked along the street.. we were quickly over-taken by kids who were zig-zagging across lawns and doing houses in random order.

  I enjoyed your story ! We have gone over the top this year for Halloween . My husband designed a Halloween light and music show for our yard and we advertized it on a facebook page . He had his picture on the front page of the local newspaper ....All this from the guy that teased me when we faded for being 'evil' and celebrating Christmas , now everyone will think I corrupted him into holidays

  But seriously ,isn't it so much FUN to see the little kids at your door dressed up ? We sure missed out with our children . I am happy for you that you are able to do these things with your kids while they are young and build some great memories for them .

  How would you feel about this and would you steps to change the situation

  next week i am having surgery at the local hospital .

  one of my old jw 'friends ', that no longer considers me worthy of even a hello ,is a surgical tech there .. would you take steps to ask she not be on the operating team ?

  it was brought to my attention today that i do have the right to ask for that person not to be present because of personal issues .. what would you do ?

  Jadeen ,I realize her what her job duties are ,and I still do not want her in my room ....at all . In our small town (and old Hall ) I have seen how medical confidentiality rules get broken with in the JW circle .

  Thanks AudeSapere, I am trying to be health conscious and eating right . I have high blood pressure so I am watching caffine intake and sodium . I get very anxious over medical procedures ....this time it is pretty minor ,but still being put out creeps me out .

  Yes Undercover that is what it really is about ,just making me a bit more comfortable and giving me peace of mind . I already feel more relaxed . She is more than diligent in her job i am sure it is just personal .

  I just didn't know you could even request such a thing until this morning . Having breakfast with some friends I explained the situation ,and one of them that works at the hospital, said it was common thing that happens . People have personal issues with ex's or whatever and the team wants you to be as comfortable as possible .

  OMG ! You guys are so quick to respond ,Thank you !

  Well I just got off the phone with the surgical coordinator ,and she was so NICE about it all. She said it was no problem at all, and that she would handle it very tactfully ,and take care of it for me . I didn't go into detail I just stated it was because of a personal issue this person has with me .(I really wanted to tell her why ,because this person practises religious shunning because I left her JW religion ,but I didn't )

  That makes me feel just a little more relaxed about surgery now ...

  I would rather she not know any of my personal business just because of the way she treats me in public ,I am sure she is capable of doing her job .

  The goal for my life is to love my family and encourage them in their goals so that one day when I am gone they will rememeber me with fondness . I want to be the type of person my friends will be glad to have known because I brought some sort of happiness ,joy or laughter to their day .I think the purpose of life is for one it should be enjoyed . Each day I try to find something to laugh about or something beautiful to soak in ,not a bath ,but something through art ,nature ect.

  My plans for the future change . Lately my plan had been to help make my Elderly Father's life more comfortable and enjoyable . Recently ,the past four months , I have had to deal with a minor health problem that is getting in the way of that goal . I have been in a lot of pain lately and it is interfereing with my ability to work up to standard ....it may cost me one of my jobs ......So my goal at the moment is to hopefully have surgery on Tuesday to correct the problem and go from there . Re-evaluate if I can continue working three part time jobs . If I have to quit a job figure out how to manage the finances ,but still progress on my plans to help my Dad .

  We went to a Halloween party Saturday night and saw some great costumes . The winner was someone dressed as Master of puppets.He was on stilts in a suit and scary skull mask with a puppeteers strings attacked to his girl friend .
